DAY1 is a colloidal silica-based finishing a colloidal silica-based topical additive that extends concrete workability by 15 to 30 minutes and makes flatwork finishing easier and faster.
Slows surface evaporation during hot, dry, or windy conditions without altering the water-to-cement ratio.
Increases cream during floating and troweling to lubricate the surface and reduce operator fatigue.
Eliminates the risky practice of splashing water on the surface, which causes scaling and weak top layers.
Reacts with free calcium to increase surface strength (20 30%), abrasion resistance, and reduce permeability.
Becomes a permanent part of the slab, leaving behind no residue or membrane to strip off.
Typically 500 to 1,000 sq. ft. per gallon for basic finishing aids, or 250 to 500 sq. ft. per gallon for high-performance densification.
